What the day looks like

About three and a half hours, hotel to hotel. Pickup at 4:30 pm, 45 minutes to the valley, a 45-minute to one-hour walk uphill to the main viewpoint, then hot drinks and the wait for sunset — the spires go orange and the city below starts to glow. A moment with your guide, the walk down with the last light, and back at your hotel around 8. Private, with a bilingual guide.

1. 4:30 pm
   Pickup at your hotel

   Anywhere in the city. 45 minutes to the valley in the soft afternoon light.

2. ~5:15 pm
   The walk up

   From the starting point, 45 minutes to an hour uphill to the main viewpoint, at an easy pace, with the spires changing colour as you climb.

3. ~6:15 pm
   The viewpoint

   We settle in with hot drinks and wait. The valley turns orange, then the city below starts to light up — this is the hour our guides say is the best experience of the day.

4. Sunset
   Something with your guide

   A small ritual, a story, a game — it depends on the guide and on the group. Then we walk down with the last light.

5. ~8 pm
   Drop-off at your hotel

   Back in the city for dinner, with photos nobody else in the hostel has.

Walking: 45 minutes to an hour uphill to the viewpoint, and the same back down with the last light.

Price by group size

Per person, in USD. The vehicle and the guide are yours alone — the more of you, the less each pays.

Bring

• Sun protection — hat, glasses, SPF 50
• Closed shoes with grip
• A windproof layer: it is cold at 5:30 am
• Your camera (drone? tell us — we clear it with the community first)
• Passport or a photo of it
• Cash for lunch and tips
• An empty bladder: there are no toilets in the valley; we stop 10 minutes before

Booking, payment and cancellation

• Book up to 12 hours before departure. Sales answer 9 am – 3 pm, every day; operations run 24 h for confirmed passengers.
• Pay by PayPal, credit or debit card (Stripe), WeTravel, crypto, or cash in La Paz.
• Travel insurance is required on every tour: our vehicles carry SOAT, Bolivia’s mandatory traffic-accident insurance, which covers accidents involving the vehicle only. All tours are easy to moderate with short trails — but the mountains are the mountains.
• You pay the full amount when you book, and your booking is confirmed instantly. Shared departures run with a minimum of 2 passengers — if yours is the only booking, we will tell you as early as possible and offer a new date, a private tour, or a full refund.
• Change your date for free up to 3:00 pm the day before the tour.
• Cancel within 24 hours of booking for a full refund, for any reason — as long as it is before 3:00 pm the day before the tour.
• Cancel up to 3:00 pm the day before for a 70% refund (30% administration fee). After that, or if you do not show up, there is no refund: everything is reserved for you and the seat cannot be resold.
• If we cancel — weather, safety or force majeure — you choose a new date or a full refund.
