What the day looks like

About four hours, hotel to hotel, with a private bilingual guide and a vehicle that drops you at the first stop and collects you at the last. Six stops in the order we recommend — Killi Killi, Calle Jaén, Plaza Murillo, San Francisco, the Witches’ Market, Mi Teleférico — but it is private: change the order, linger, or skip. All entrances and snacks included. Three departures: 8 am, 1 pm, or 3 pm to end with the sunset from the cable car.

1. 8 am · 1 pm · 3 pm
   Pickup at your hotel

   Pick your start: morning, after lunch, or at three to finish with the sunset. The vehicle drops you at the first stop and meets you again at the last.

2. Stop 1
   Killi Killi viewpoint

   The whole bowl of La Paz in one look, the Illimani behind it, El Alto on the rim. The best place to understand the city before walking it.

3. Stop 2
   Calle Jaén

   The best-preserved colonial street in the city: cobbles, balconies, small museums. Five minutes long, an hour deep.

4. Stop 3
   Plaza Murillo

   The political heart: the palace, the cathedral, the congress, and the pigeons. Your guide tells you what happened here — a lot did.

5. Stop 4
   San Francisco

   The church and its square, where the colonial city and the Aymara city meet. Then the streets climb from here.

6. Stop 5
   The Witches’ Market

   Offerings, herbs, llama fetuses and the reasons behind them, explained by someone who grew up with them.

7. Stop 6
   Mi Teleférico

   The cable car over the city — one line, more if there is time. La Paz from above at the end, and at 3 pm departures, at sunset.

8. ~4 h later
   Drop-off at your hotel

   The vehicle picks you up at the last stop and takes you home.

Walking: About four hours on foot with many stops, on slopes, at 3,600 m — slowly.

Price by group size

Per person, in USD. The vehicle and the guide are yours alone — the more of you, the less each pays.

Bring

• Sun protection — hat, glasses, SPF 50
• Closed shoes with grip
• A windproof layer: it is cold at 5:30 am
• Your camera (drone? tell us — we clear it with the community first)
• Passport or a photo of it
• Cash for lunch and tips
• An empty bladder: there are no toilets in the valley; we stop 10 minutes before

Booking, payment and cancellation

• Book up to 12 hours before departure. Sales answer 9 am – 3 pm, every day; operations run 24 h for confirmed passengers.
• Pay by PayPal, credit or debit card (Stripe), WeTravel, crypto, or cash in La Paz.
• Travel insurance is required on every tour: our vehicles carry SOAT, Bolivia’s mandatory traffic-accident insurance, which covers accidents involving the vehicle only. All tours are easy to moderate with short trails — but the mountains are the mountains.
• You pay the full amount when you book, and your booking is confirmed instantly. Shared departures run with a minimum of 2 passengers — if yours is the only booking, we will tell you as early as possible and offer a new date, a private tour, or a full refund.
• Change your date for free up to 3:00 pm the day before the tour.
• Cancel within 24 hours of booking for a full refund, for any reason — as long as it is before 3:00 pm the day before the tour.
• Cancel up to 3:00 pm the day before for a 70% refund (30% administration fee). After that, or if you do not show up, there is no refund: everything is reserved for you and the seat cannot be resold.
• If we cancel — weather, safety or force majeure — you choose a new date or a full refund.
